Gellibrand’s new Mary Burbidge Centre is up and running for clients and team members.

Gellibrand’s brand-new Mary Burbidge Centre in Orbis Drive, Ravenhall is an efficient and highly functional space. Our clients and team members have quickly made it feel like home.

The ground floor space has plenty of room for clients to enjoy the full range of Meaningful Activities in Partnership (MAP) and ISP activities, including dance, craft, cooking and exercise. There’s an outdoor basketball ring and the spacious indoor area is perfect for events, as shown at our recent well-attended Biggest Morning Tea in support of the Cancer Council of Australia. The space’s adjoining kitchen makes for smooth catering and client cooking activities.

There are two entry points to the ground floor, both of which allow easy access from vehicles for clients with high-support needs, while the Mary Burbidge Centre is a facility that prioritises client safety. The downstairs area also includes a smaller activity space for quieter client activities and a cosy and cushioned sensory room that’s a comfortable space for clients to relax. There are also two large TV screens – for movie, presentation and karaoke requirements!

Upstairs, Gellibrand team members are enjoying the new Mary Burbidge Centre’s light-filled administrative workspace. The open plan area is a hub of activity, while a quiet working  room is perfect for high-concentration tasks. There is also an array of private break-out meeting rooms, modern bathrooms and a fully functional kitchen.

The new Mary Burbidge Centre is a thriving hub that’s playing its part in Gellibrand’s mission to support people with a disability to achieve the outcomes they want as valued members of the community. We look forward to using the new space to connect with the wider community and to partnering with like-minded organisations for the benefit of all people with a disability in the western suburbs.
